MEDIA TERRORISM(PART 1)

I am one of the ardent fan of news channels and i always felt that its one of the  revolution of this century. But after seeing the happenings in the media coverage of "MUMBAI MASSACRE",I felt that these news channels are no way better than the politicians and they showed their ugly face many times..I would just quote few incidents here

INCIDENT ONE:

Lets go back to 26th of november, the day the terrorists started their attacks at the heart of Mumbai. If u had watched the news channels keenly, a man was deeply hurt in his hand and blood was flowing due to a terrorist attack in Oberoi Hotel. At the same time, all news channels were covering this incident..Wat they should have done??...they should have  taken him to the hospital, atleast they should have given some sort of First-Aid...But do u know wat they did.. A Reporter says "HELLO PLEASE COME HERE..PLEASE SHOW ME YOUR HANDS..PLEASE DONT RUN...HOW DID THEY SHOOT YOU??...DID COMMANDOS COME FOR YOUR HELP??.....But that man is under immense pain due to loss of blood,  but around 20 reporters  ask him questions, for whom a "BREAKING NEWS" is more important than a man's hand......Heartless people.....

GHAJINI(HINDI) MUSIC REVIEW

The soundtrack of Aamir Khan's forthcoming film, GHAJINI, marks the return of maestro A.R. Rahman for the fifth time in 2008. Needless to say, he's had himself a very prolific year.

In January we experienced the deliverance of one of Rahman's Best Soundtrack of  the year - Jodha-Akbar. Come May, and Ada...A Way of Life, which boasted of a playfully nostalgic Rahman. A couple days later, youthfully composed Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. Continuing his remarkable trend of excellence, October witnessed the delectable sounds of Rahman in the form of  "YUVARAJ".......

However, the streak ends with Ghajini.

The movie, directed by A. R Murugadoss, is the remake of superhit Tamil film. It stars Aamir Khan, Asin and Jiah Khan. There is no title track in the album, but the album promises uncommon tracks that bear the Rahman stamp.

The introductory song 'Guzarish' by Javed Ali and 'guest vocalist’ Sonu Niigaam is soft and romantic. AR Rehman has achieved mastery over composing romantic number and this time also he has kept his promise and has been successful in composing an ear-soothing track. Tamil GHAJINI listeners can identify it is similar to “suttum vizhi”,which was the song of the year 2005.

The second track of the flick ‘Kaise Mujhe’ by Benny Dayal as male singer and Shreya Ghoshal as female singer is exceptional. The pair renders a stunning duet. The instrumental version of Kaise Mujhe has soothing and balmy effect. The musical piece has right fusion of two instruments – guitar and flute. This song slowly grows with you after 5-6 hearings, it will touch your hearts.

The third track 'Aye Bachchu' by Suzanne comes as a massive shock. It has English words inserted in Hindi sentences but sorry to say the album is not up to the mark and will not make to the chartbuster. This song is really disappointing as it has no thrill and one would never expect such a disaster from music maestro Rehman. This track has lower down the glory of the album.  I think the director has forced rahman to have such a album similar to “yes machi” song in tamil.

Next let us see “BEKHA” An unusual song with erratic melody given to mood swings. This is the song where you can admire Aamir not for his eights packs but six different vibrant looks and styles. Rendered by Karthik, the song is catchy in appearance. Rehman has full faith in him and thus bestowed on him the responsibility of singing this soulful song and Karthik has done full justice to it

The last song in the album is “LATOO”.Here is the song perfect for parties, rendered with energy and variation by versatile Shreya Ghosal. She is quite experimental in this song.
The song is a combination of hip hop and soft music. It is really a stunner from Shreya Ghosal who is known for her melodies.

At last after hearing the songs of  GHAJINI, you may feel it is not the best from Rahman. But to compose music for a psychological thriller is no easy feat. A R Rahman, one of the best in the business, does it with relative ease in the music score of ‘Ghajini’. Comparisons with tamil version  are obvious and unavoidable, but at the end of the day audio sales matter, with aamir-rahman duo that should not be a problem.

Are our politicians more inclined to vote than tackling terror???

It is business as usual for our politicians. On Thursday, it seemed India 's worst terror strike in Mumbai may actually unite our politicians, when the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked BJP leader L K Advani to accompany him to Mumbai. But,  both sides said that scheduling problems and election campaigning ruled it out. That meant two separate VIP contingents and a tough task for security Forces.

By Friday morning, the BJP had waited long enough. With elections in Delhi and Rajasthan, advertisements in dailies talked of terror. Advani used Mumbai to promote his cause, Modi was sent to Mumbai to add fuel to the fire by saying the central government was soft on terror and the PM speech to nation was diaappointing. His speech was made before Nariman house were the rescue operations were going on...Mr.Modi also announced Rs 1 crore for the ATS chief's family. These things were clearly a political move and was unwarranted in the situation were hostages were fighting for their lives..Instead Modi was fighting for his saffron party..

Now, in Mumbai and the rest of India, there's a feeling of public anger over the rhetoric made by the politicians. People have asked what politicians are doing. A SMS circulating whole of India asks where Raj Thackeray and his men were, that it's National Security Guard (NSG) commandoes from across India who are putting their lives for the sake of Mumbai's residents.

It's time for united political action and not the politics of divide and rule.

MY SWOT ANALYSIS ON ENTHIRAN(THE ROBOT)

Super Star Rajni next movie "Enthiran" with ace director Shankar and his dream crew has begun shooting recently......So i thought let me put my insights about the movie and do Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat(SWOT)  analysis about the movie....I dont want the readers feel that i will be biased in doing this analysis as i have a penchant for Rajni....i assure that it will be done in a neutral manner...

STRENGTH:
The greatest strength of the movie is Rajni-Shankar-Rahman combination, this combination has been a great success in "SIVAJI" and they proved their mettle in that blokbluster.Technical crew for "enthiran" is one of the strong points for the movie.....Ratnavelu for cinematography, anthony for editing,Yuen Woo Ping who handled stunt for many Hollywood movies like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix and Kill Bill has been roped in for "Endhiran".

WEAKNESS:
Writer Sujatha's demise is one of the weakness for the movie.....He has been instrumental in Shankar's success since "boys"...It is also believed that story of enthiran was written by him...One of the weakness of "sivaji" was it lacked a coherent story, the same can be repeated in Enthiran....Aishwarya rai  roles in recent movies except "guru" were very lackadaisical....Hope shankar provides a meaty role which has a scope for acting.....

OPPORTUNITY:
Rajni is a treasure,if used properly and intelligently can reap gold for producers......His presence will ensure a great opening, added to that if the film appeals to viewers it will become greatest hit of our times...So director shankar must work on a strong story backed by a racy screenplay rather concentrating more on extravagant location for songs......There is a great opportunity to make a Science-Fiction film on world standards, backed by a great team this can come true.....

THREATS:
Shankar's style of taking movies for two years can be a threat to the movie,as it would be hard to maintain the tempo for two years....The dream team might create huge expectation, even if the movie slightly slips or lags in any one aspect,it can cause great repercussions....ARR music must be damn good and opening song must be great(sivaji had a medicore one),If he fails to deliver which Shankar wont allow, can become a greatest threat to movie........

Hence history beckons "enthiran" team it is upto them to grab it........

ARE CINE PEOPLE SOFT TARGETS FOR POLITICIANS?????

Popular actors and actresses are paying heavy price for their cult status...There are numerous instances when the politicians overreact to off the cut remarks of people in cine field.....The politicians around the country divide actors on regional basis....Recent controversy involving Jaya Bachchan is a testimony to the fact that a small issue can be blown out of proportions...Her remark "That people hailing from U.P., must speak only in hindi" was said in a audio function,in a light manner but that was considered as a shame for Marathi by politicians in Maharashtra. When we look closely, these petty policians are looking for a chance to divert people 's attention to their side,so when they get a chance like this they lap it up with both hands.....But wh this is happening??When u attack a star like amitabh its a win-win situation for politcians....first,amitabh cannot retard against them, second, even if he retards it wold be considered anti-marathi.... k then... wats the solution??we people must not get carried away by these politicans and actors on their part must undestand their status and talk accordingly....
